Internships
The Institute of Wellbeing has a year-round internship program. To date most of our interns have come from the Asian University for Women, but we have also partnered with many other universities in Bangladesh and abroad and a couple of high schools. While our program is flexible, internships usually last for two weeks to one month. Interns work closely with our staff on activities meant to increase their analytical and public speaking skills, among others.
Internships at IWB are tailored to the needs of the interns. Interns can choose to focus on a particular campaign (mobile playgrounds, carfree cities, Revolt against Plastics, and urban gardening) and/or work related to economyths, diversity, or other areas of mutual interest.
Most internships involves activities such as organizing demonstrations, playing games, practicing public speaking, and planning, directing, acting in, and editing videos. Internships also typically contain some “classroom” time to learn more about communication techniques, advocacy, and “life lessons”. Interns are involved in a mix of individual and group work. The focus of the internships is on giving the intern an opportunity to practice leadership, learn actively, hone creative skills, and get work done while having fun.
All successful interns will receive a certificate. Lodging is available in the IWB building.
