Diversity

IWB envisions a society in which people of different backgrounds, physical abilities, religions and so on are all welcomed and their contributions valued. IWB seeks to maintain diversity in its staff through conscious hiring practices and wishes to see all kinds of different people encouraged and enabled to make positive contributions to society. IWB also creates opportunities for interns to work and interact with a variety of people different from themselves, particularly people with disabilities, indigenous people, and transgender people (hijra).

IWB wishes to see diversity celebrated, not just tolerated. Towards that end, IWB regularly organizes “Diversity is Our Strength” parties that bring together diverse participants to share their experiences and talents, thereby creating greater awareness, acceptance, and understanding of the value of diversity in our society.
