World Localization Day 2023

World Localization Day is a global movement aimed at promoting sustainable and resilient communities through the localization of economies, politics, and cultures. It is celebrated on June 20th every year.

Localization is the process of creating self-reliant and sustainable communities that are able to meet their own basic needs, such as food, water, and energy, while minimizing their reliance on long-distance transportation and global supply chains. Localization also aims to promote the use of local currencies, the preservation of local cultures, and the decentralization of political power.

World Localization Day is an opportunity for individuals and organizations around the world to come together and celebrate the importance of localization and to promote the values of community resilience, ecological sustainability, social justice, and cultural diversity. The day is marked by various events, such as conferences, workshops, festivals, and demonstrations, that bring together people from different backgrounds and perspectives to share ideas, experiences, and solutions for building more localized and sustainable communities.

The first World Localization Day was held in 2019 and has since gained momentum, with a growing number of individuals, organizations, and communities around the world joining the movement. By promoting localization, World Localization Day aims to inspire people to take action towards creating a more sustainable and just world for all.
